The National Junior A Championship is a five-team tournament held in mid-May to determine the top team in the Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) every season. Four champions (Pacific, West, Central, East) and the host team compete in an 8-day tournament format.

Formal bids for the 2021 Championship had to be submitted by April 30th, 2019. Between May and June, Hockey Canada will short-list the applicants to 1-3 candidates for an in-person interview. Following that, Hockey Canada will choose the successful applicant which will be announced at least 18 months prior to the tournament beginning.
