It was a goal scored like no other, or at least captured on video, in Estevan Bruins history….simply known as “The Goal” scored by Bruins’ captain Jayden Davis against the Weyburn Red Wings on Friday, November 8th.
And in the days following, “The Goal” has achieved national and international recognition and airtime on major sports networks across North America.
Video of the goal, taken from the offensive zone corner by Bruins’ Director of Marketing Danny Ewen, was shared with permission on the social media feeds from TSN and their various properties including “Jay And Dan” and “Bardown”, Sportsnet on the television-side and social media side, NBC Sports and NHL on NBC social media channels, and the official NHL social media channels on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
The video originally shared on Estevan Bruins’ social media was shared hundreds of times, with hundreds of “Likes” and thousands of views as the video went viral. Jayden Davis has stated that it’s unbelievable the amount of attention the goal received and that it’s one of the coolest things he’s been a part of.
