Alex Blanchard Acquired for a Player Development Fee

The Estevan Bruins are proud to announce that they have acquired defemseman Alex Blanchard from the Rockland Nationals.  In return the Rockland Nationals receive a player development fee.  The Niagara Region native played two seasons in the QMJHL.  Prior to the Sherbrooke Phoenix Alex spent four seasons at Ridley College where he was teammates with current Estevan Bruin Robbie Stewart.

“Alex has been on our radar for sometime now.  He is very mobile and is an excellent puck distributor.  We feel Alex can help us create offence from the backend and we see him as someone that can be a key player on the power play.  Being from the Niagara Region myself my contacts thought Alex would be a great addition” commented Head Coach Jason Tatarnic.

“I’m extremely proud and excited to join the Bruins organization and get involved in the Estevan community. The Estevan Bruins are no doubt a great organization in Canadian Junior hockey, and I’m looking forward to meeting all my new teammates and Coaches. After a great summer of training, I’m eager to get started and begin our quest to become back to back SJHL champions and compete for the Centennial Cup. See you soon Bruins fans! “

Welcome to the Estevan Bruins!
