Bruins acquire defenceman, Ronan from NAHL

The Estevan Bruins announced Monday, the team has added 20-year-old defenseman, Kieran Ronan to the roster.

Ronan was acquired from the Aberdeen Wings of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) in return for a Player Development Fee.

Bruins’ head coach, Jason Tatarnic said Ronan’s mix of size, ability and veteran presence provides a valuable addition to the team.

“Ronan adds size to the backend at 6’3, and he has a very good skill set for a bigger guy,” Tatarnic said. “We liked what he brought to the table when he played against us in the pre-season and we felt we needed to add another player with junior experience on our back end.”

Ronan split last season between the New Jersey Rockets and Utah Outliers of the National Collegiate Development Conference (NCDC) in the United States Premier Hockey League and Aberdeen Wings of the NAHL. He tallied nine points (one goal, eight assists) in 33 NCDC games, before playing four games with the Wings.

The Eagle Sky Estevan Bruins will return to action to action this Friday, when the team hosts the defending champion, Melfort Mustangs at Affinity Place. Fans can catch all the action on FloHockey and online at the Bruins’ NEW audio stream on YouTube.

The Pregame Show will begin at 6:45 p.m. Friday, with puck drop to follow at 7 p.m.
