A speedy and skilled forward who spent parts of the last two seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) will be bringing his talents west to Estevan for the 2021-22 season.

The Estevan Bruins have acquired forward Olivier Pouliot (5’9, 155lbs) from the Côte-du-Sud Everest (QJHL) in exchange for Future Considerations. Pouliot split the shortened 2020-21 season in the QMJHL with Chicoutimi and the Québec Remparts, tallying 11 PTS (3G, 8A) in 28 GP and adding another 5 PTS (3G, 2A) in 6 GP in the playoffs.

“I’m really happy to join a team that aspires to top honors this year! I believe that all together, we will be able to accomplish great things in the coming season. See you soon, Estevan!” – Olivier Pouliot

Pouliot played the majority of his 18-year-old season with the Côte-du-Sud Everest (QJHL) for Head Coach Simon Olivier, a former Estevan Bruins player. With the Everest in 2019-20, Pouliot put up impressive numbers racking up 36 PTS (12G, 24A) in 31 GP before being called up to the Victoriaville Tigers (QMJHL) where he added 5 PTS (1G, 4A) in 14 GP. Pouliot then started the 2020-21 season in Chicoutimi before being acquired in a mid-season trade by the Remparts, where Pouliot played under Head Coach Patrick Roy. Pouliot and the Remparts swept Drummondville in the first round of playoffs before being eliminated by Chicoutimi in the second round.

“We are really excited to have Olivier join our team this season. He’s a player that has the ability to add offence to our lineup. We’ve watched plenty of video of Olivier and he’s an intelligent player that is very responsible in the defensive zone. We feel we have added an excellent two-way player.” – Jason Tatarnic, Head Coach/GM
