The Estevan Bruins have acquired rookie forward Zach Burns (’03) from the Drumheller Dragons in exchange for forward Kasey Heimstra (’02).
Heimstra was previously acquired last week in a trade that saw Griffin Asham-Moroz (’01) sent to Drumheller. Heimstra did not appear in a game for the Bruins, and is heading back to Drumheller for Burns who has tallied 8 PTS (2G, 6A) in 16 GP in his rookie season for the Dragons. Burns (6’3, 195lbs) also appeared in 7 GP last season with Drumheller where he tallied 4 PTS (2G, 2A).
Burns will wear number 22 for the Bruins and may suit up as early as this weekend for games against the Weyburn Red Wings.
