The Estevan Bruins are proud to announce that forward Eric Houk (’01) of Regina, SK has committed to the Bruins for the 2021-22 season!
Eric (5’11, 185lbs) joins the Bruins after playing the last three seasons with the WHL’s Swift Current Broncos, serving as Assistant Captain the last two years. Eric also AP’d with the Bruins for 3 playoff games during the 2018 playoffs, earning an assist in his first SJHL game.

“I’m excited to come to a great Jr. A organization like the Bruins and do my part to bring a national title to the city of Estevan!” – Eric Houk
“Eric is a player that gives an honest effort every night. We like how hard he competes and we feel he will add leadership to our dressing room as he served as the assistant captain for the Swift Current Broncos the past two seasons. He’s a player that will contribute to both ends of the ice and we are looking forward to having him join us this season.” – Jason Tatarnic, Head Coach/GM
Houk suited up for 134GP for Swift Current over three seasons (including the WHL Hub this season), putting up 18PTS (12G, 6A) and 46PIM during that time. Houk was one of the top penalty killers for the Broncos during that time, and won the team’s version of the ‘Hardest Working Player’ award this past year as a gritty player who frequently blocks shots and commits to playing physical every game.
