The Eagle Sky Estevan Bruins are pleased to welcome defenceman, Caleb Potter back into the fold, on re-assignment from the Swift Current Broncos of the Western Hockey League (WHL).
Potter, a soon-to-be 18-year-old defenceman from Regina, SK., is a smooth skater who posted five points (one goal, four assists) in 19 games with the Broncos this season, prior to the re-assignment. He is a veteran of 53 career WHL games over the last three years posting nine points (two goals, seven assists) over his time split between Swift Current and the Seattle Thunderbirds.
Last season Potter also joined the Bruins on re-assignment from Swift, coming over on CJHL Trade Deadline Day in January to finish the season with the black and gold. Potter posted seven points (one goal, six assists) in 24 games with the team.

Bruins’ Head Coach and General Manager, Drew Kocur said Potter’s mix of experience and skill makes him a strong addition to the team’s back-end.
“Anytime you get a player that has played games in the league it’s a huge bonus, just knowing the league and the travel,” Kocur said. “We expect him to jump right in and make an impact. […] It’s a big boost to our back-end, Potter is a high-end offensive player that brings skill and more speed to our lineup.”
Potter was expected to make his season debut with the Bruins Tuesday night in Yorkton, but the game has been postponed to a later date due to icy roads making poor travel conditions.
Instead, Bruins’ fans will get to see the young defenceman in action for the first time when the Bruins return to play this weekend for a home-and-home versus the Bunge Division rival, Melville Millionaires. Friday’s game will be at Affinity Place, with Saturday’s rematch in Melville.
Both games will be available on FloHockey and for free on the Bruins YouTube Livestream. Pregame will begin at 6:45 p.m. with puck drop to follow at 7 p.m.
