Bruins drop double OT thriller as playoffs begin

The Estevan Bruins are behind the 8-ball after the first night of the SJHL playoffs.

The Bruins fell 4-3 in double overtime to the Notre Dame Hounds at Affinity Place Friday night.

Sam Kroon scored the game winner for the Hounds at 15:15 of period 5.

Estevan ended up outshooting Notre Dame 55-36.

Kade Runke, Kian Calder, and Mark Rumsey scored for the Bruins.

Elliot Dutil, Oliver Band, and Will Dawson scored the other markers for Notre Dame.

The Hounds now lead the best of 7 series 1-0. Game 2 goes Saturday night at 7 p.m. at Affinity Place.
