The Eagle Sky Estevan Bruins return to the ice at Affinity Place Friday, for their final home game of the preseason, to open a home-and-home with the Manitoba Junior Hockey League’s (MJHL) Virden Oil Capitals.
The Bruins enter their third-of-four preseason games with a 1-1-0 record, coming off a home-and-home split with the Weyburn Red Wings earlier in the week, which saw the team bounce-back from a 10-3 loss Tuesday to win 5-1 in their return to Affinity Place.
Veteran centerman, Noah Asmundson leads the Bruins with four points (3G, 1A) through two preseason games, coming off a monster 2G, 1A performance in Wednesday night’s 5-1 win on home ice. Also among the players to watch for the Bruins Friday is rookie forward Cash Olson, who enters the weekend fresh off a three-point (1G, 2A) showing in his preseason debut, while using his speed to create havoc all over the ice.
Virden is 2-2-0 through four preseason games, coming off a home-and-home split of their own earlier in the week against the Portage Terriers, which saw the team win their Tuesday night game 8-1.
Winger Landon Hoilett led the way in the victory, posting a four-point game (2G, 2A) in his first exhibition action with the Oil Caps, while defenceman Maddox Shindle leads the club and sits T-3rd overall in the MJHL preseason scoring ranks with five points (1G, 4A) in two games.
Friday’s game will be available on FloHockey and on the Bruins’ Official YouTube Livestream. Marty Martinson will have your call with Pregame starting at 6:50 p.m. and puck drop to follow at 7 p.m.
