MCKALE PAUL (D) SELECTED IN 1ST ROUND, 10TH OVERALL
The 5th annual Bantam Draft for the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League was held on Friday, May 31st during the SJHL League Meetings in Nipawin.
All 12 teams had personnel gathered hoping to draft the best available 2004-born players that will impact their roster in the next few years.
The Estevan Bruins had eight picks entering the 2019 Draft, with the first pick coming 10th overall.
ROUND 1 (10th overall) – McKALE PAUL – DEFENCE (Swift Current Bantam AA) – July 15th, 2004 – Hometown: Swift Current
Paul tallied 27 points (13G, 14A) and added 102 PIM in 31 games for Swift Current in Bantam AA in 18/19.
ROUND 2 (18th overall) – PARKER LALONDE – FORWARD (Warman Wildcats Bantam AA) – January 22nd, 2004 – Hometown: Aberdeen
Lalonde tallied 50 points (24G, 26A) in 31 games for the Warman Wildcats in Bantam AA in 18-19. Lalonde added 10 points (6G, 4A) in 5 playoff games.
ROUND 4 (38th overall) – CARTER DERENIWSKY – FORWARD (Yorkton Maulers Midget AAA) – February 27th, 2004 – Hometown: Canora
Dereniwsky tallied 25 points (8G, 17A) in 41 games with the Yorkton Maulers in the SMHL in 18-19. He was also picked in the 2nd round by the Victoria Royals in the WHL Bantam Draft.
ROUND 4 (41st overall) – SETH DRAGAN – FORWARD (Saskatoon Generals Bantam AA) – January 21st, 2004 – Hometown: Saskatoon
Dragan tallied 31 points (12G, 19A) in 31 games and added 64 PIM with the Saskatoon Generals in Bantam AA in 18-19.
