Bruins solidify goaltending with Kelsey acquisition

The Eagle Sky Estevan Bruins announced Monday the team has signed puck-stopper, Kyle Kelsey to solidify their goaltending position.

Kelsey, a 20-year-old from Maple Ridge BC., joins the Bruins after spending the last three seasons split between the Victoria Grizzlies of the BCHL and Red Deer Rebels and Tri-City Americans of the Western Hockey League. In just over 100 career games between the two leagues, he posted a combined 3.00 goals against average and .907 save percentage.

Standing tall at six-foot-one and 185-pounds, Head Coach and GM of the Bruins, Jason Tatarnic said he’s looking forward to seeing Kelsey in action with the team.

“We are very excited to add Kyle to our roster and we are really looking forward to having him in the line-up next week,” Tatarnic said. “He brings significant experience in the net for us.”

The Bruins will return to action Wednesday night in Humboldt to kick off three games in four nights for the team. Wednesday’s game will be available on FloHockey and on the Bruins’ NEW YouTube Livestream. The Room By Room Pregame Show will begin at 6:45 p.m. with puck drop to follow at 7 p.m.
