Bruins Suffer Rare Defeat, Drop 2-1 Decision to North Stars

The Estevan Bruins suffered a rare setback on home ice Friday night, losing to the Battlefords North Stars 2-1 at Affinity Place.

All three goals came in the second period. After Mikol Sartor opened the scoring for Estevan, Battlefords responded with two goals of their own from Steven Kesslering and Holden Doell.

The Bruins failed to capitalize on an extended 5-3 powerplay in the third period.

Michael Harroch made 34 saves in net for the North Stars.

The Bruins drop to 17-5-1-1 with the loss while the North Stars improve 17-6-1-1.

Battlefords has now won seven games in a row.
