Bruins Take Advantage of Tired Flin Flon Squad

THE BRUINS CAME AWAY WITH A 4-2 WIN SUNDAY AFTERNOON

Coming off an 8-2 thumping at the hands of the Notre Dame Hounds on Wednesday, the Bruins headed into Sunday looking for redemption against the Flin Flon Bombers.  The Bombers, playing their 5th game in a row were coming off a loss in Notre Dame that saw their 14 game point streak come to an end and were playing their 4th game in 5 days.

The Bruins were able to take advantage of a tired Flin Flon team as Jake Fletcher scored just 1:29 into the game.  The first period ended in a 1-1 draw after Flin Flon struck midway through the frame.  The second period yielded little for either team and nothing in the way of scoring.

The Bombers were able to take the lead early in the third period and held the lead for most of the third.  Enter Josh Rieger.  Rieger scored with 5:33 to play in the frame to tie it up and again with 1:49 to take the lead late in the game.  Matt McNeil added a late empty netter to ice the game with 10 seconds remaining.

The Bruins are back in action Tuesday February 7th at Affinity Place vs the Yorkton Terriers before a weekend home and home with the rival Weyburn Red Wings.
