The Eagle Sky Estevan Bruins return to action Friday night in Yorkton, to take on the division rival Terriers in their first game of 2025.

A Look at the numbers

The Bruins enter play fourth in the Viterra Division and 10th overall in the SJHL standings with an 11-13-4 record through 28 games. With 26 points, the Bruins sit just five back of Humboldt for the eighth-and-final playoff spot while holding three games in-hand.

The Terriers enter play in top spot of the Viterra Division and second overall in the league standings with a 20-9-1 record through 30 games. Coming off a 7-4 win in Melville Wednesday, the Terriers’ 41 points have the team currently nine back of the league-leading Mustangs and one point up on third-place Flin Flon.

Players to watch

Terriers’ captain Jaron Desnoyers headlines a potent Yorkton offense, sitting second overall in league scoring with 40 points (17 goals, 23 assists) in 29 games. Desnoyers has been especially hot as of late, coming off a monster two-goal, two-assist performance in Melville to extend his current point streak to six straight, with five goals and 12 points over the six games.

Bruins’ centerman Kent Moors leads the B’s in both goals (12) and points (25) in 24 games. Moors also enters the weekend red-hot, picked up at least a single point in five of his last six, including two goals and four points in his last two games prior to Christmas.
