COLLECTING POINTS DOWN THE STRETCH WILL BE IMPORTANT OVER THE FINAL 15
The Power Dodge Estevan Bruins are coming into a crucial portion of their schedule in the next 5 weeks. With 12 games in February and three more to follow in the first week of March, the team will be busy to say the least.
The Bruins currently sit atop the Viterra Division, 12 points clear of the second place Weyburn Redwings. However, the Bruins sit in a tight race in the league standings, which determine the playoff match ups at the end of the season.
The Nipawin Hawks lie just two points ahead of the Bruins while the fifth place Humboldt Broncos trail the B’s by six points. With a heavy schedule in February after a very quiet January, the team will have to be on their A game to hold or improve their spot in the standings.
After a 5-4 win against the Melfort Mustangs last Saturday, the Bruins will try to build a win streak and climb in the league standings before the end of the regular season on March 7th. The team is back in action tomorrow, February 1st against the visiting Notre Dame Hounds. Puck drop is at 7:00 pm.
