Jake Fletcher Commits To Concordia University In Montreal

THE BRUINS’ CAPTAIN SCORED 11 GOALS IN THE 17/18 PLAYOFFS TO LEAD ALL SJHL PLAYERS.

The Power Dodge Estevan Bruins’ are extremely proud to announce that Jake Fletcher (#27) has committed to Concordia University in Montreal for the upcoming 2018/19 season.

Fletcher (5’10”, 180 lbs) played three seasons with the Bruins’ tallying 52 goals and 123 points in 149 regular season games. 12 of his goals were game-winners, as the White Rock, B.C. native consistently stepped up his game in big moments for the black-and-gold.

In his final season of junior hockey, Fletcher was named as team captain by Head Coach and GM Chris Lewgood. With Fletcher and several other veterans leading the way, the Bruins’ enjoyed their most successful season in 19 years as they repeated as Viterra Division champions, disposed of the Kindersley Klippers and reigning-champion Battleford North Stars in the playoffs en route to a thrilling yet heart-breaking Canalta Cup final, where the Bruins’ fell by a score of 2-1 in Game 7 against the Nipawin Hawks.

Fletcher led all SJHL players with 11 goals in the 17/18 playoffs, and tied for 2nd in playoffs points (21) behind teammate Kaelan Holt (22). Fletcher scored the lone goal for the Bruins’ in their Game 7 defeat in front of the diehard Bruins’ fan section in Nipawin.

Fletcher is as respected off the ice in the community of Estevan as he was on the ice for his energetic, rambunctious, highly-skilled play. He will play USports Men’s Hockey at Concordia University in Montreal.
