Goaltender Kyle Kelsey made 47 saves in his Bruins’ debut, and Kent Moors had another three points (two goals, one assist) on the night, to lead the Eagle Sky Estevan Bruins to a 5-3 victory over the Humboldt Broncos Wednesday night in Humboldt.
A 3-0 Bruins’ lead at the end of the first, and 3-1 game at the end of two, the Bruins’ offense also saw valuable contributions from forwards Hayden Pimm and Carter Onrait – each chipping in their first career goal in the SJHL – and Luke Hogan, who tallied his second in as many games with one of the three Bruins’ power play strikes.
Pimm’s goal opened the scoring just 8:20 into the first – and despite leaving the game soon after, after taking a puck to the face – the tough-as-nails forward was in good spirits following the game, smiling as best he could for a snap with his first SJHL goal puck.
Moors’ first of the night made it 2-0, converting on a set-up from Jacob Hufty in the latter’s first game with the team, followed by Hogan’s power play marker to make it 3-0 at the first intermission.
Following back-to-back Broncos goals in the second and early third, Onrait’s first in the SJHL came on a tremendous effort attacking the net in the third, to bunt home a Cade Kennedy rebound to re-establish an insurance marker for the team at 4-2.

A late goal by Humboldt’s Jacob Strizzi would make it a 4-3 game with less than 1:30 to go, before Moors’ second of the night sealed the victory for good, scoring into the empty net.
The Bruins will return to play this weekend for back-to-backs in Kindersley, Friday and Saturday night.
Both games will be available on FloHockey and on the NEW Bruins’ YouTube Livestream. The Room By Room Pregame Show will begin both nights at 7:15 p.m., with puck drop to follow at 7:30 p.m.
