2023 has been pretty sweet for Keagon Little, and now he’s been named our Estevan Bruins’ ‘Player of the Month’ for January!! 👏
Little led the Bruins with 5 goals and 12 points in January, highlighted by a 4-point game vs Yorkton during a 5-1 win on Jan. 11th.
Little rejoined the Bruins after starting this season at Briercrest College. Little committed to the school after being a key member of the Bruins’ 2022 Championship team, playing an impressive shut-down Center role as an 18-year-old.
Since returning to Estevan, Little has shown improvement in all areas of his game even though he was already an impact player. Little has been strong on faceoffs, responsible defensively, and has now added a dynamic offensive game to his skill set.
Little made an immediate impact in his first game back, nabbing an assist just minutes into the game against Weyburn on Jan. 6th. The next night, Little was forced out of the game early after being hit from behind into the boards. The impact left Little bruised, bloodied and cut…however he escaped without any serious injury and suited up in the next game just 4 days later.
Little then “went off” tallying 8 points (5G, 3A) in the next three games, all wins including a 5-0 win over Battlefords where Little scored two goals in the 3rd period. For his efforts, Little was named the SJHL ‘MVP of the Week’ for Jan. 9th – 15th.
Little then finished with 3 assists in the last four games in La Ronge and Flin Flon. In total, Little had at least a point in 9 of the 11 games in January.
