The Eagle Sky Estevan Bruins are pleased to announce local-area talent, Gunner Moore (’08) has committed to the team for the 2026-27 season.

A product of nearby Carievale, SK., Moore is currently fourth in SMAAAHL (Sask U18 AAA) scoring with 49 points (15G, 34A) in 27 games (1.81 Pt/G) as captain of the U18 AAA Bears.

Fresh off of scoring his first SJHL goal, and first three points with the Bruins as an ‘AP’ (Affiliated Player) call-up over the weekend, Bruins’ Head Coach and G.M., Drew Kocur said the team is looking forward to having the game-breaking winger join the club full-time come the fall.

“We’re obviously very excited to have Gunner as part of our group for next year, and the future of the Bruins,” Kocur said. “He’s done great things at the AAA level, he’s been called up a couple of times this year and been a point-per-game, and we know what he brings. Gunner’s skilled, he’s slick, he’s smart with the puck and he can skate. It helps that he’s real close to Estevan too and we’re excited to have him.”

Moore’s totals in the Triple-A ranks this season only build on an impressive breakout campaign a year ago, that saw the shifty winger finish sixth in league scoring with 62 points (29G, 33A) in 44 games (1.41 Pt/G) to establish himself amongst the U18 elite in the province.

Moore said he’s looking forward to the opportunity ahead to join the Bruins come the fall, for his 18-year-old season.

“Obviously it’s super special, I’ve spent most of my years here playing hockey, and I watched the Bruins growing up, so it’s obviously special to commit here. It’s a great organization, I like the coaching staff, the guys are great and I think we’re going to have a good team next year so hopefully I can come into the league and make an impact for these guys.”

Moore was a 1st Round draft selection (7th overall) by the Bruins in the 2023 SJHL U15 Draft.
