After two seasons, and 114 games behind the mic as Play-by-Play Voice & Marketing Director with the Bruins, Marty Martinson is moving on to a new chapter.
“I want to thank the Bruins’ organization for the opportunity to come here to Estevan and work with this team these last two years, and all the fans and team supporters who embraced me from the start,” Martinson said. “I knew Estevan was a passionate hockey community when I came here and some of my favorite memories will be the many visits with fans who would stop by the office just to chat about the team in the day-to-day. I’m leaving Estevan with many fond memories having met a lot of great people here and made many lasting relationships.”
Martinson joined the Bruins ahead of the 2024-25 season, during a time of transition for the team. He will go down as the inaugural voice of the Bruins’ YouTube Livestream, and author/creator of the Bruins Yearbook VOL I & II, building both the stream and the Yearbook from the ground-up. He said both will go down as some of his proudest professional achievements.
“The goal of the Bruins Yearbook was always to celebrate the best of the Bruins, sharing players’ stories, highlighting their achievements, and showcasing the team’s value to the community and I hope both editions I was able to contribute can be a lasting keepsake for Bruins’ fans they can look back on decades later with fond memories,” he said.

“As for the YouTube Livestream, the best decision I ever made with that was asking fans to comment in,” Martinson continued. “It brought a whole new conversational element to the broadcasts and is something I’m extremely grateful for. I would always ask listeners to ‘comment in where they’re listening in from and share their thoughts on the action & give birthday shoutouts & goal predictions.’ To see so many these last two years listening in from around Saskatchewan, BC, Alberta, Manitoba, Montreal, Ontario, and even New York, Chicago, & Colorado was just unreal. It made the games more interactive in a new way I’m extremely proud of, and I’m thankful for all those who messaged in over the two years to make it something special.”
Marty’s last day in the office will be Monday, Mar. 30.
