For the first time in four years, Estevan Bruins’ fans will hear a new voice calling games over the airwaves on Rock106.

Nolan Kowal (pronounced ‘Cole’) has been brought on by Golden West Broadcasting to work in their newsroom and will take over the play-by-play duties for Estevan Bruins’ home and away games on Rock106 and streamed live on DiscoverEstevan.com, as well as home games that aren’t on the radio but streamed live on HockeyTV. Nolan comes from Winnipeg, Manitoba and will arrive in Estevan in early September.

“It’s exciting for me. I’ve had the opportunity to call some hockey games already, but never on a full-time basis for a team like this opportunity I’ve got now calling games for the Estevan Bruins. The Centennial Cup is obviously going to be an exciting time for the community to rally around…and to have that prize waiting at the end of my first season…that just adds to the excitement.” – Nolan Kowal

Nolan takes over for Rob Mahon, who has become the new play-by-play voice of the WHL’s Prince Albert Raiders.
