The Estevan Bruins have found their winning stride in the early stages of the SJHL regular season.
After dropping their first two games, the Bruins beat the Nipawin Hawks 4-1 Tuesday night in Nipawin.
Forward Liam Lucas led the way with a pair of goals, while captain Kade Runke and Tyler Guy also found the net.
Goaltender Cam Hrdlicka made 27 stops in the win.
The victory moves Estevan to 1-2 on the year, while the Hawks fall to 1-2.
The two teams played again Wednesday night at Centennial Arena in Nipawin.
The Bruins were beaten 6-3 Wednesday night by the Nipawin Hawks to fall to 1-3 on the year.
The game was tied at 3-3 heading to the third period before the Bruins gave up three goals early in the final frame.
Bruins defenceman Aleksa Babic scored twice, with one of those coming on a penalty shot.
The Bruins will now prepare for the first instalment of the Highway 39 rivalry Friday night in Weyburn.
