The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) and SaskEnergy have partnered together this season for a league-wide initiative, recognizing the Billet Families across the province that volunteer their home, their time, and their money towards housing Junior hockey players.

Your Estevan Bruins ‘SaskEnergy Billet Family Recognition’ recognizes David & Loretta Millman!

David and Loretta Millman, who are currently in Year 3 of billeting Bruins’ forwards Tanner and Tyson Manz, have been billeting for roughly 20 years, starting in the year 2000. They got into billeting when Loretta’s sister and her family had billets, and David and Loretta’s son said that he wanted to get a “Bruint” too! (like Billet, but pronounced “Bruin-it”). Over the years, plenty of boys have come and gone from the Millman household with mostly all good memories.

It means a lot for David and Loretta to be able to help out the Estevan Bruins Hockey Club. They feel that the players need stability and family around them when they are away from home, and hope to make each player feel comfortable and as part of the family.

For the Millman’s, it is a feeling of pride to be so lucky to be able to help our these young men, create bonds with them and their families, and to create many memories and friendships.

David & Loretta will be recognized during a special pregame ceremony just prior to puck drop this Friday, January 10th when the Estevan Bruins host the Melville Millionaires at Affinity Place.
