Scott Joins Bruins after Trade with Valley

EVAN SCOTT WILL JOIN THE BRUINS AFTER BEING ACQUIRED IN A TRADE AT LAST WEEK’S DEADLINE

Evan Scott is about to start the final chapter of his junior hockey career.  The 20 year old 6’3″, 212 pound defenseman was acquired just hours ahead of the SJHL trade deadline last week.

Scott played 3 full seasons in the QMJHL playing 113 games and acquiring 9 points and 157 penalty minutes with the Shawinigan Cataractes and the Rimouski Oceanic.  This year, Scott has picked up 19 points and 42 penalty minutes in 32 games with the Valley Wildcats of the Maritime Hockey League.

Coach Lewgood offered some comments about what fans can expect to see from Scott down the stretch this season. “He is a veteran player with some size and bite to his game.  He provides a little bit of experience that we have been lacking on the back end and with over 100 games of Major Junior experience can bring some leadership qualities as well.”  He went on to say, “Evan is a defensive minded guy who plays the game really hard and he has proven with season in Valley that he can contribute offensively as well.”

The Bruins are back in action Friday against the Humboldt Broncos. Puck drop is at 7:30 at Affinity Place.
