Team Gold Wins Gerry Aspen Cup; 18/19 Training Camp Recap

THE BRUINS’ FILL OUT THEIR ROSTER FOR 4 PRESEASON GAMES STARTING SEPTEMBER 3RD.

The Power Dodge Estevan Bruins’ finalized an intense weekend of training camp on Saturday night with the annual ‘Black-and-Gold’ game at Affinity Place.

With a few hundred fans in attendance, it would be Team Black hoisting the Gerry Aspen Cup with a 3-2 win over Team Gold.

2nd – Black: Mason Strutt (1), Assisted by Jonas Leas

2nd – Black: Jerzy Martin (1), Assisted by Isaiah Thomas

3rd – Gold: Johnny Witzke (1)

The game ties a bow on what became an anticipated Main Camp in Estevan after the Bruins’ encapsulating run to the Canalta Cup Final in 17/18, where Nipawin defeated Estevan 2-1 in Game 7.

Now the page officially turns to the new year, one high in expectations for the Bruins’ who will return around dozen players from last season’s squad. And with several highly-regarded prospects and new faces trying to crack the opening night roster on September 14th, it made for a very entertaining and hard-fought training camp.

Now fans can follow along with the Bruins’ as they begin their 4-Game Exhibition schedule before the regular season begins in two weeks with a home-and-home series against the Melville Millionaires.
