The Eagle Has Landed; Bruins’ Acquire 6’5″ Lucas Eagle (D – ’02) From Camrose Kodiaks

The average size on the blueline for the Estevan Bruins heading into the 2021-22 season has jumped up significantly with the latest offseason transaction for the team.
The Estevan Bruins have acquired 6’5″, 225lbs defenceman Lucas Eagle (’02) from the Camrose Kodiaks (AJHL) in exchange for a Player Development Fee (PDF).
 
Eagle (Edmonton, AB) joins the Bruins after playing the last season with Camrose in the AJHL, however only appearing in 8 games during the shortened 2020-21 season. Eagle tallied 3 PTS (1G, 2A) and 19 PIM in his rookie season. Eagle previously played AAA hockey with the CAC Canadians for two seasons, tallying 11 PTS (3G, 8A) and 72 PIM in 64 GP.

Eagle joins the Bruins along with the offseason additions of goaltender Boston Bilous (’01), forwards Mark Rumsey (’01)Olivier Pouliot (’01), Mikol Sartor (’01)Eric Houk (’01), Joey Moffatt (’01)Ben Diamond (’02) and Carter Massier (’01, list rights acquired), and the additional signings of Zach Burfoot (’03)Zachary Smith (’02), and Brenden Holba (’03).

The SJHL season will begin on Friday, September 24th with the Estevan Bruins hosting the Yorkton Terriers at Affinity Place. The Bruins will be the host team for the 2022 Centennial Cup, presented by Tim Horton’s, taking place in Estevan from May 20th – 29th, 2022.
