The Power Dodge Estevan Bruins are kicking off their 60th Anniversary season with training camp this weekend. Sixty players are expected to arrive in Estevan to battle for a spot on this seasons roster. The players will be put through the paces both on and off the ice. The fans are encouraged to attend the free on ice sessions, getting a glimpse of the season ahead. The camp wraps up with the annual Black and Gold intrasquad game in a battle for the Gerry Aspen Cup, which is free to attend.
The Bruins are set to play four preseason games, starting with the annual rookie game in Notre Dame on Monday, September 4. The following night the Bruins will welcome the Waywayseecappo Wolverines of the MJHL in inter-league exhibition action. The preseason schedule wraps up with a home-and-home ‘Highway 39’ rivalry match up against the Weyburn Red Wings. Fans are invited to come and cheer on the Bruins and catch the preseason action at Affinity Place, where game admission is only $5 per person.
