HEAD COACH/GM - JASON TATARNIC

Jason Tatarnic has joined the Estevan Bruins as the Head Coach & General Manager, taking on the role for the 2020/21 season.

Prior to joining the Bruins as a Head Coach & General Manager, Tatarnic has compiled a 470-172-14-16 record and was considered one of the top coaches in the country. Under his leadership and guidance his teams have won league championships, regional championships and as a General Manager, Tatarnic built a national championship team in 2017-2018 with the Chilliwack Chiefs. Tatarnic also has experience on the international stage as the Head Coach of Team Atlantic at the World U-17 Championships.

ASSISTANT COACH - PHIL FIFE

Phil Fife is joining the Estevan Bruins as an Assistant Coach, brought in by new Head Coach/GM Jason Tatarnic ahead of the 2020/21 season.

Originally from Oromocto, New Brunswick, Fife played under Tatarnic for two seasons (10/11, 11/12) with the Woodstock Slammers, winning the MJAHL championship and advancing to the National Championship final in 2011/12. Fife won another MJAHL championship and played in the RBC Cup tournament for the Truro Bearcats in 2013/14. Fife then played four seasons of USports hockey for the University of Waterloo from 2014 - 2018.

Fife has since moved into the coaching world and served as an Assistant Coach with the Melville Millionaires in the SJHL for the 2019/20 season.

ASSISTANT COACH - AREN MILLER

Aren Miller has served as an Assistant Coach for the Estevan Bruins since the beginning of the 2013/14 season.

The product of Oxbow, SK was drafted 52nd overall in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft by the Detroit Red Wings. He played junior hockey for the Spokane Chiefs for three seasons before moving on to his professional career where he made stops with the Adirondack Red Wings, Cincinnati Mighty Ducks and Oklahoma City Blazers before retiring from professional hockey in 2003.

Miller splits his time coaching the Bruins along with his role as Head Coach of the AA Bantam team in Estevan. He works full-time with Baker Hughes GE in Estevan.

EQUIPMENT TRAINER - JORDON BLANCHETTE

Jordon Blanchette has been an avid supporter of the Estevan Bruins for years. In 2016 he opened his own sports and equipment store called "Blanny's Gear" at the Affinity Place Arena.

Jordon has been playing hockey since he as five years old, and is very active in the hockey community as both of his children are starting to play as well.

Jordon has always helped the Bruins and when the position for Equipment Trainer became available, Jordon Graciously accepted. He took the position in 2021, and will remain with the team for the foreseeable future.

OFFICE MANAGER - AMANDA WANNER

Amanda Wanner has served in her role as office manager with the Estevan Bruins since the 2015/16 season. Amanda also serves as the administrator for Estevan Minor Hockey, with both offices running out of Affinity Place.

DIRECTOR OF MARKETING & OPERATIONS - ADAM SHIRLEY

Adam Shirley joined the Estevan Bruins as the Director of Marketing & Operations in December 2021.

He was born and raised in Estevan, left Canada to further his education in Los Angeles. He obtained a degree in entertainment and starting to work on hundreds of projects. He has spent the better part of a decade working on Cruise ships all over the world as a entrainer and then as a expert Luxury goods consultant with marketing for over 240 different companies.

Upon his return to Canada with his wife and son, he heard the Bruins calling and had to respond.

While on the microphone at home games, Adam is focused on building a stronger fan base, a stronger level of corporate partnerships with the club, expanding the social media experience, having an unparalleled level of community involvement, and generating as many fundraising dollars as possible for the non-profit junior hockey team.

Dr. Erdie has lived and practiced in Estevan since 2014. He started working with the Bruins during the 2015-16 season.

Dr. Erdie enjoys working with the Bruins staff and players to make sure the team stays healthy and are performing their best.

MEET THE EXECUTIVE

The Estevan Bruins Jr. A Hockey Club is governed bya group of volunteers that make up our 'Executive'.

The Executive meets once a month to discuss operations and the state of the club on and off the ice. Each of them helps canvas the community during fundraisers and can be seen volunteering during home games.

To be an Executive Member with the Estevan Bruins, a person must be willing to work towards the betterment of this hockey club. Below are the current executive members for the 2021/22 season:
