The Estevan Bruins have added another player from the Western Hockey League (WHL) for the first half of the upcoming regular season. The club has signed forward Eric Pearce (’01) from the Prince Albert Raiders until December 20th, 2020.
Pearce (6’1, 200lbs) has played the last three seasons with Prince Albert, winning a WHL championship alongside Cole Fonstad and the Raiders in 2018/19 before playing three games in the Memorial Cup.
Like Fonstad, Pearce will return to the WHL after Christmas for the expected start of their season on January 8th, 2021.
“Pearce is a player who was already on our list and as a list player, he’ll play a limited number of games this season before he returns to Prince Albert. Next year, Pearce will be a 20-year-old so this will give him the chance to see what we’re about in Estevan if he becomes available to play with the Bruins. Pearce will bring good leadership and a winning pedigree to us in the meantime, and be someone our younger players can learn from.” – Jason Tatarnic, Head Coach/GM
