The Estevan Bruins and Melfort Mustangs have swapped a pair of 2004-born prospects in a trade over the weekend.

The Bruins acquired forward Brady Wilson (Swift Current, SK) in exchange for goaltender James Venne (Saskatoon, SK).

Wilson (5’11, 175lbs) is currently playing with the Moose Jaw AAA Warriors and is off to a great start to the 2021/22 season, with 9 PTS (6G, 3A) in 7GP. Two other prospects for the Bruins, defenceman McKale Paul (’04) and forward Liam Fitzpatrick (’05), play with Wilson on the Warriors. This is Wilson’s final season of eligibility at the U18 level.

Venne was drafted by the Bruins with the 63rd overall pick in the 2019 SJHL Bantam Draft. Venne has signed with the Medicine Hat Tigers (WHL) but has yet to play a game at the junior level.
