The Estevan Bruins are proud to announce that Blake Heward has committed to play for the Estevan Bruins ahead of the 2023-24 SJHL season.
“Adding Blake to our D-core was a priority for us this offseason and as a staff we are really excited to have him in the black and gold,” said Head Coach & GM Jason Tatarnic. “Blake adds experience and is a steady presence on the ice. After spending time with Blake, it was pretty clear that he possesses leadership qualities as a team-first player. For those reasons we have selected Blake as one of our assistant captains for the upcoming season.”
Heward added “I have heard nothing but great things about the City of Estevan and the Bruins organization! I’m excited to get things going in Energy City!”
Heward recorded 4 goals and 21 assists in 103 games as a defenceman for the Edmonton Oil Kings and the Calgary Hitmen in the Western Hockey League (WHL). Heward was originally selected in the 4th Round (#45 overall) in the 2018 SJHL Draft by the Estevan Bruins.
