The Estevan Bruins won their 4th straight game on Wednesday night in Wilcox as they thumped the Notre Dame Hounds 6-1.
Jayden Davis would open the scoring just 5:25 into the game as he buried a great pass from Isaiah Thomas past Notre Dame goaltender Logan Dyck to make it 1-0. It is Davis’ 20th goal of the season, with Kade McMillen also assisting on the play.
After Notre Dame’s Sho Takai tied the game at 1-1 at the 10:09 mark, the Bruins earned the lead back before intermission as Troy Hamilton buried a one-timer for his 11th goal of the year to make it 2-1 after 20 minutes. Tyler Savage and Kersey Reich assisted on the goal.
The Bruins would score two goals in a 50 second span in the 2nd period to go up 4-1 after two periods. First it would be Cody Davis sniping his 14th goal of the year from Eddie Gallagher and Dayton Deics at the 13:24 mark, then Tyler Savage would tally his 13th of the year at the 14:14 mark to give the Bruins a three-goal lead. Troy Hamilton and Tylor Ludwar assisted on the goal.
The Bruins would put the game away with a pair of early goals to start the 3rd period. Savage scored his second of the game just 2:23 into the final frame to make it 5-1, with Hamilton and Griffin Asham-Moroz assisting. Then while shorthanded, Jayden Davis buried his second of the night from Thomas to round out the scoring in a 6-1 victory.
Keenan Rancier (28/29) earned the win in net for the Bruins, his 25th win of the season. Logan Dyck (37/43) was tagged with the loss for Notre Dame.
