The Estevan Bruins have moved one of their veteran forwards on the heels of 2021 Main Camp, which wrapped up last week.

The Bruins’ have traded 20-year-old center Caleb Petrie to the Waywayseecappo Wolverines (MJHL). Petrie will join his new team this week before they begin their preseason schedule this upcoming weekend. Last year, the Wolverines’ started the 2020/21 season with a 7-3 record in 10 GP, good for 2nd overall when the season was shut down and eventually cancelled.

Petrie (’01) played parts of the last two seasons with the Estevan Bruins, suiting up in 25 GP and tallying 11 PTS (4G, 7A) and 49 PIM. In Petrie’s rookie season, he also put up 22 PTS (11G, 11A) in 14 GP with the PJHL’s Pilot Butte Storm. Petrie was named as the Estevan Bruins’ ‘Most Improved Player’ for the 2019/20 season.

‘Petey’ was also heavily involved in the community representing the Estevan Bruins in both his years and was the Bruins’ nominee as RBC Community Ambassador last year. Petrie chose Hillcrest School as the recipient of the $1,000 donation that came with the nomination, and made the final three as the league’s choice for RBC Community Ambassador.

The Estevan Bruins’ organization wishes Petey all the best with the Wolverines as he continues his hockey career!
