Bruins two game loss over weekend

The Estevan Bruins couldn’t muster up any offence Friday night en route to a 3-0 loss to the Melfort Mustangs.

Melfort’s Riley Ashe scored in the first period, and his marker stood up as the game winner.

Mustangs goaltender Joel Favreau only had to make 19 stops for the shutout, while Bruins netminder Cam Hrdlicka stopped 33 to keep his team in the game all night.

The two teams played the rematch Saturday night in Melfort.

Saturday Night:

The Estevan Bruins are back below the .500 line after a 3-2 loss in Melfort Saturday night.

The Bruins led 1-0 after the first period after an Owen Miley powerplay marker, but got into penalty trouble in the second period and watched their lead disappear.

Mustangs forward Ryan Duguay also finished with three points, including the game winning goal in the third period.

Estevan captain Kade Runke scored the other Bruins goal.
