Pearce leads Bruins to Game 2 victory

The Estevan Bruins are just two wins away from an appearance in the SJHL finals.

Estevan defeated the Yorkton Terriers 3-1 Saturday night and now leads the best of 7 semi-final series two games to none.

Eric Pearce scored twice, and Cody Davis scored shorthanded in what proved to be the game winner after a giveaway from Terrier netminder Kael DePape.

Nolan Wutzke, making his first appearance in the series due to a suspension to Cade Kennedy, scored the lone goal for Yorkton.

Bruins superstar Olivier Pouliot did not play, held out as a precaution after getting banged up in Game 1.

Estevan could be on a collision course with the Flin Flon Bombers, who won both games in Humboldt over the weekend and will take a 2-0 series lead back to the Whitney Forum in Flin Flon.

Game 3 goes Tuesday night in Yorkton, while the Humboldt-Flin-Flon series resumes on Friday.
